Foals Born at Boulder Ridge.

Here at Boulder Ridge, we have had a few foals (9) born here over the 20 years of owning Icelandic Horses.

The foals have been a lot of fun to raise, train, and watch them grow into adult riding horses. :)

Funi from Boulder Ridge Funi, which his name means "Fire", was the first foal born at Boulder Ridge. He was born on July 16, 2005. Mother is Hrimhildur and Father is Kjarni fra Argerdi. Funi is now a great riding horse and is owned by a family here in Maine.	Ara fra Boulder Ridge Ara, which means "Aura, or warm breeze", was the 2nd foal born here at Boulder Ridge on July 26th, 2005. At 10PM, we were there in time to watch the birth of this beautiful girl! Ara's mother is Gydja and her father is Kjarni fra Argerdi.	Skuggi fra Boulder Ridge Skuggi which means "Shadow", was the 3rd born here at Boulder Ridge on July 30th, 2005. His mother is Kolka fra Kroppi, a mare we had imported, and his father is Kjarni fra Argerdi. Skuggi lives back here at Boulder Ridge!
Katina from Boulder Ridge Katina, which means "Merriment", was the 4th foal born here at Boulder Ridge on May 16th, 2010. We were there in time to watch the birth of this beautiful girl at 10 in the Morning. Katina's mother is Hrimhildur and her father is Parker fra Solheimar. Katina was born dark chestnut in color, with a big star on her forehead. Now as the years pass, she is becoming quite white. Katina has excelled in liberty training and is a very nice, small but powerful, riding horse.	Brimi from Boulder Ridge Brimi, which means "love/lust", was the 5th foal born here at Boulder Ridge on April 28th, 2013. Around 5 AM, we were there in time to watch the birth of this beautiful boy! Brimi was born a dark chestnut with a tiny star on forehead, and snip on his nose. Brimi's mother is Byrda and his father is Eidur fra Oddholi. Brimi is Krista's main riding horse, and has become a super fun boy!	Skjómi from Boulder Ridge Skjómi, which means "Glitter/bright", was the 6th foal born here at Boulder Ridge on May 10th, 2013. Around 4AM, we were there in time to watch the birth of this beautiful boy! Skjómi's mother is Hilda and his father is Eidur fra Oddholi. Skjomi is used for indoor riding lessons. (He can be a bit spooky on the trail, so is only for confident riders).
Bjarni from Boulder Ridge Bjarni, which means "Bear", was the 7th foal born here at Boulder Ridge on May 24th, 2013. Around 1AM, we were there in time to watch the birth of this beautiful boy! Bjarni's mother is Gná frá Hrafnsstöðum and his father is Kristall frá Efri-Rauðalæk.	Bruni from Boulder Ridge Bruni, which means "fire/excitement", was born here on June 24th, 2015. And is now the 8th foal born here at Boulder Ridge. Bruni's mother is Byrda and his father is Eidur fra Oddholi. Which makes him a full brother to Brimi. Bruni is becoming a super riding horse!	Jupiter from Boulder Ridge Jupiter, he was named after the god of storms as he was born during a thunderstorm on July 19, 2015 around 11PM. Jupiter is the 9th foal born here at Boulder Ridge. His mother is Hilda, and his sire is Stigandi fra Leysingjastodum II. Jupiter is quite a fun and powerful riding horse! He has all 5 gaits and lots of power and expression.
